Your Questions, Answered.
How often should I service my HVAC system?
Typically, an HVAC unit should be serviced and thoroughly cleaned twice a year: during the main change of seasons or when you’re ready to do a major temperature change
When do I know I need a new HVAC system?
If your unit is over 15 years old and isn't running as efficiently as it used to, it may be time to consider replacing it. Signs of a dying unit include loud noises, unit running for extended periods of time, and the temperature in your home not reaching the temperature set on the thermostat.
What type of air filters should I use?
In order to prevent putting a strain on your unit and to provide your home with the best air flow, you should use the thinnest (yes, almost see-through) filters you can find. Filters should be changed monthly.
What are some tips to heat & cool more efficently?
-
Change filters regularly
-
Keep the thermostat at a constant temp
-
Proper unit size and duct installment will adequately heat/cool your area
I've changed my filter, but my air still seems dirty. What's wrong?
Sometimes critters find their way into the duct work that's in your crawl space, leaving dirt and debris inside. When this happens, you should replace the affected area so the air passing through is clean.
What’s the best way to extend the life of my unit?
Changing filters regularly (we reccomend monthly) and having an HVAC technician clean and service your unit with the change of seasons can help extend your unit’s life.
